Treatment Coordinator at SiS Youth Home Johannisberg

The National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work, or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Johannisberg operates in Kalix and Boden (unit Sävastgården).

Job Description

Do you want to help create the life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment coordinator at SiS is a meaningful role.

Our target group is boys aged 16 - 21 placed under the Act on Closed Youth Care and the Act on Care of Young People. The institution has the highest security classification, and therefore we make significant investments in both staffing levels and working environment to increase safety for both youths and staff. Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our commitment, and our attitude.

The starting point in our treatment work is to motivate people to new and less destructive ways of living. You will work in a team of dedicated colleagues, and with your combined expertise, you have the opportunity to achieve good results. The treatment coordinator is organized under the quality manager together with treatment secretaries, family therapists, and health and medical personnel in our institution-wide treatment team. As a treatment coordinator, you will plan, implement, and follow up on program activities. You will conduct treatment conversations/programs and have a special responsibility for documentation and the forms and instruments used in treatment. You collaborate with various functions regarding mapping, establishing, and following up on treatment and implementation plans. The role of treatment coordinator may also include responsibility for mentoring new employees and interns. An important shared task for all employees is to contribute to creating a safe environment and ensuring that safety at the institution is maintained according to procedures. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are primarily during the day, but it may include working evenings occasionally as needed. Travel may occur as part of the job.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, are empathetic, and can build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have a good ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues. In your role as a treatment coordinator, you will have your own responsibility for several interventions in the treatment plan and responsibilities on the department that require experience and the ability to coordinate that work. You need to be able to plan and structure your work, work independently, and take your own initiative. Since the treatment work is documented and discussed with several different actors, high demands are placed on good Swedish in both speech and writing.

You should also have:

  • Relevant higher education, such as social worker, social pedagogue, or other health/behavioral science education, or a two-year post-secondary education such as treatment pedagogue, with substantial experience in care and treatment as well as program activities.
  • Experience in conducting motivational and treatment work individually and/or in groups.
  • Experience in working with program activities.
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing.
  • Driver's license B

At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that you as an employee take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee relations.
